    First Appointment: During the first appointment, the Registered Dietitian (RD) will conduct an individualized nutrition assessment and answer any of your questions or concerns. The RD will work with you to design a nutrition treatment plan that meets your specific needs. Appointments are 60 minutes.



    Follow-up Appointment: A 60-minute appointment to continue working on nutritional needs.



    Family Appointment: A 75-minute appointment for two adults.



    Packaged Appointments: 3 Follow-up Appointments.



    Packaged Family Appointments: 3 Family Appointments.

    This course is for parents who want to learn the best practices for feeding their family and reduce the stress around meals. Methods covered are recognized by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the American Academy of Pediatrics. This 1-hour course is for parents with children aged 1-5 years old.

    Beginning Baby-Led Weaning

    An intuitive approach to starting solids

    Baby-Led Weaning (BLW) gives baby the skills to become well-rounded eaters for a lifetime. Learn about the benefits, safety, nutrition, and how-tos of BLW. This 1-hour course is for parents with children 8 months or younger.

    Maggie Perkins, MS, RD, LDN


    Registered Dietitian

    Maggie is a Registered Dietitian who has assisted people in shaping health behaviors for over seven years. She has experience in clinical dietetics, corporate wellness, and community health programs. She received her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University with a major in Foods and Nutrition and a minor in Health Promotion. She went to Tulane University to complete her dietetic internship and received a Masters of Nutrition Science from East Carolina University.

    Maggie focuses in Health at Every Size®, eating competence, and intuitive eating.

    What can I expect when I book a counseling appointment?

    New clients will receive an email with log-in information to the client portal, Healthie. Within Healthie clients can schedule meetings, fill out initial paperwork, and securely message the dietitian. This is also where clients and the dietitian meet to video chat.

    Payment is due at the time of service.

    Most clients work with the dietitian for six months to a year.

    Do you take insurance?

    Yes, Tomata is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.
